LaLeLu: Nimm mich! - Die Hochzeitsshow
With DVD presentation

September 30th, 2007 - Hamburg (G)

After having dinner in a full restaurant, with a nice view on the Binnenaltster, Lena and I are walking to the Laeiszhalle. It's raining slightly, but we don't really care. This weekend is great anyway and some raindrops can't take away the fun! I love being here in Hamburg and it is great to see some friends again. Yesterday we've been shopping in Harburg and in the evening we drove 180 km to Cloppenburg to see the Rockhouse Brothers perform during the Cityfest. It was so cool to see them again! Unfortunately the crowd was getting thicker and more drunk, so we left after the second set, because in stead of rain, those drunken idiots took away some of our fun. But I didn't mind leaving earlier, it was great!

But now we are standing in front of the Laeiszhalle for another night out. LaLeLu is the actual cause of my visit to Hamburg. Only the look at this theater makes you want to go inside, because it's so pretty! It's a very special location, but it's a special night as well, because the DVD will be officially presented tonight. The old theater is big and it's a fantastic place for classical concerts. It looks very luxurious. We are very early and before entering the building we take a short walk around it. Wow!

Later, when we are inside, I think I see Sonja walking around. It appears to be her and we have a small chat before she disappears backstage again.

When we find our seats we are a little disappointed first, because 6th row on the balcony in the back appears to be pretty far away from the stage. Of course we knew we didn't have the best places, so we accept, but when we see the almost empty second floor balcony, we decide to change seats, because on the 2nd floor balcony we can sit close to the balustrade which is just perfect! We are high, but there are no people in front of us and we feel good!! Only a couple of minutes after we've found ourselves these great seats, the show starts. Actually I know the show pretty well already. I've seen it in Emmlichheim in March and last week I've received the DVD already. For some reason I couldn't help myself and watched it twice already... Nevertheless, I love to see the show live again. Some parts I know by heart, but it still makes me laugh.

Sören, the small, uncertain but sweet waiter - Tobi, the hilarious, macho driving teacher - Jan, the desperate, rich guy and Sonja, the beautiful, but hysterical bride.

But who is she going to marry in the end? I won't tell you...

The audience tonight is great. The people are laughing at the right places and sometimes they are even reacting too quickly, for instance when Jan receives a huge applause after his guitar solo, and when the applause fades away he still has to finish the song, although only one short sentence is left. It's fun to be on the second balcony, because we have a good view on the audience below us and they all start laughing at the same time, over and over again. Because we're not in the crowd, it's like not being part of it as if we're observing it from far away, but at the same time we're laughing as well about the same jokes.

After the show, there's a huge applause and the LaLeLu's are offered flowers, which happens in a chaotic but funny way, because when the people with flowers enter the stage on the right side, the LaleLu's just left it on the left side. Eventually they all get their bunch of flowers and Sören tells the audience about the realization of this show. The audience keeps laughing because his moderation contains joke after joke. There are some extra songs now and the Vogelhöchzeit is the first one. Sonja made a new text for it, from which the three men pretend to have now knowledge, which results in astonished and embarrassed faces hiding behind their sheet music while Sonja is having the time of her life, insulting her colleagues, the man in the first row, the couple in the seventh row and in the end the complete audience. Sören, Jan and Tobi quietly leave the stage, but come back to carry Sonja away when she starts to become too coarse. The audience is howling with laughter and Sören unbelievingly figures he's glad we all like Sonja's sense of humor.

Das Prinzip Sobhuza is very special tonight, because the African dance and drum group Angelina Akpovo&Yakavumbu from Benin is playing and dancing along, which is great! For us, it's also great to see the audience below us again, because during the song everybody is moving synchronically and that's a beautiful sight from above. Then, a big projection screen is carried on the stage and before watching pictures on it (which are also on the DVD), there are some bridal couples in the theater (!) and they're called forwards. LaLeLu sings the Musterehe especially for them. After the photo presentation the Wedding March sounds and the show ends.

It's been so much fun to be there and see LaLeLu again. The perfect way to conclude this great weekend! I'm really happy to have the DVD of this show, because the show is so funny and I will definitely watch it again! (and again, and again). Personally I think the DVD is better than the album, so I'll recommend the DVD to everybody who wants to get to know LaLeLu. LaLeLu's music should be heard ánd seen!
